The range runs from a 150 kg mixer for small farms to a horizontal 250 kg mixer and 500 and 1,000 kg/hr machines.
Mixing your own feed means buying maize bran, soya, fish meal and minerals in bulk and blending to a known ration: usually cheaper than bagged feed, and you know exactly what is in it. An even mix matters most for chicks and layers, where a pocket of too much or too little mineral shows up quickly.
